HEAVEN
The Future
Dwelling Place Of The Righteous
Heb 11:10
10 For he
looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Heb 11:16
16
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath
prepared for them a city.
Here Heaven is represented as a city. A place prepared by God Himself.
A place where the righteous will go and spend eternity.
John 14:1
Let not your
heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2
In my Father's house
are many *mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you.
John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
*Mansion
A large, impressive house. A splendid structure. A place of awe and astonishment.
A marvelous
and magnificently beautiful, elaborate and extravagant dwelling place.
A DESCRIPTION OF OUR CITY
Rev 21:18
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold,
like unto clear glass.
Rev 21:19
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were
garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony;
the fourth, an emerald;
Rev 21:20
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh,
chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
Rev 21:21
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl:
and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
WHO WILL GO THERE?
1
Thess 4:16
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice
of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1
Thess 4:17
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to
meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
WHO WILL GO THERE?
OVERCOMERS!!
Rev 21:7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall
be my son.
An over comer is one that has committed himself to the Lordship of Christ through
the new birth and has remained faithful to him. Has not yielded to the constant bombardment of offers by the Devil to conform
to the sinful ways of the world. (Romans 12:2)
He overcomes by THE
BLOOD of the Lamb and by their testimony.
Rev
12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved
not their lives unto the death.

HEAVEN WILL BE A PLACE OF JOY
Ps
16:11
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness
of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Fulness of joy
Jude 24
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence
of his glory with EXCEEDING JOY, Jude 25
25 To the only
wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
EXCEEDING
JOY
The jubilant celebration of the victory over our chief enemy, the devil,
the loud roar of celebration will be without measure.
We have made it!! We over came!! Through Christ,
we have won!!!
Jubilation...the great celebration of happiness, victory and triumph will be unmeasurable. It will be our
time of
EXCEEDING JOY!!!!! HEAVEN WILL
NOT HAVE:
PAIN
SORROW
WEEPING
DEATH
Rev 21:4
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Sorrow,
pain, sickness, death and any type of unhappiness are by-products of man’s fall in the Garden of Eden. In Heaven, these
gifts from Satan will be gone forever and we will never experience them again throughout eternity.
JOHN’S
VISION OF OUR CITY
Rev 21:15
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed
to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
Rev 21:16
16 And the
city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve
thousand furlongs. The length and the
breadth and the height of it are equal.
The
city is made like a cube, fulfilling the Holy of Holies of the Tabernacle where God met his people which in type represented
Heaven.
Twelve thousand furlongs are approximately 1,500 miles in each direction and extending the same
distance into the air. [See our definition of Mansion on page one]
THE DIMENSIONS OF THIS CITY IS MIND BOGGLING. IT
PASSES ALL HUMAN UNDERSTANDING. IT COMPLETELY FULFILLS OUR NEXT VERSE.
Eph
3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK,
according to the power that worketh in us,
Heaven is God’s Habitation
Deut
26:15
Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which
thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
